Gimme a Break

Japanese only flavored Kit Kat

Still on my list of flavors to try, Cookies and Cream and Strawberry Hazelnut Kit Kats

I’ve been trying to be good. Trying to eat healthy and not overindulge. But I gotta admit it, when I get stressed out, overwhelmed or have a ton of work, the first place I head is my local convenience store for a round of junk food. It’s a terrible habit, especially since I’m pretty healthy in most ways. I’m a vegetarian, I work out, I meditate, write in my journal…all kinds of good stuff. But kick up the work load a notch or two, and it’s Dr. Pepper and a bag of Cheetos.

This habit gets even worse in Japan. There’s too many amazing flavors of junk food just waiting to help me in my hour of need. My favorite? Kit Kat. Oh, I’m a sucker for this candy bar. The last time I left here, I sacrificed certain well-loved items to make room in my luggage for several boxes of exclusive Japan only flavors of Kit Kats. Yes, the Red Boots went. In their place, Wasabi, Soy Sauce, Corn, Dark Chocolate Passion Fruit, Green Tea and Fuzzy Strawberry Kit Kats. I actually think it was a pretty good trade off.

Tonight I’m feeling a little overwhelmed with my work load and all the projects on my plate. Between my two new part time jobs in Japan, clients and my new business, I’ve got a lot going on. Thank heavens there’s Dark Chocolate Biscuit Kit Kat in the stores right now. That and a carton of coffee with milk, and I’m ready to hit it.

So, what’s your favorite stressed out vice??
