Discovering Serindipity

Gorgeous site all about Sri Lanka. Can’t wait to get there and see their “off the beaten path” recommendations for myself!! Operated by native Sri Lankans, Lasith and  Bhagiraj.

Travel Gear

Having the right gear is very important. From clothes, to packs and suitcases to electronic gadgets. Even the right underwear can make a big difference. Here are some of my favorite places to stock up on supplies when I’m in the States.

Magellan’s
Magellan's Travel Favorites Animated (468x60)
Magellan’s has a comprehensive catalog and very knowledgable staff. They are headquartered in Santa Barbara, I’ve spent many an hour in their store trying out and testing their products. One product I cannot say enough about is Comply Noise Reduction Earphones. These earplug like foam tips block out snoring mates and noisey bus engines. I don’t travel without them!

REI

REI is a great place to go for backpacks, sports sandals and multipurpose clothing. Their staff is incredibly helpful and their return policy is great.

Ex Officio

I’m not kidding about good underwear and ExOfficio makes the best travel underthings out there. Personally, I’m a Give-N-Go String Bikini kind of a gal, but they’ve got lots of styles to choose from. Avoid white, it doesn’t hold up well when traveling.

Travel Insurance

World Nomads
You hope nothing will ever go wrong when you are on the road, but just in case, with travel insurance from World Nomads behind you, you’ll be protected if something does. Easy sign up and free language lessons to boot.

Planning Your Trip

Getting there is half the fun! One of my favorite parts of traveling is daydreaming about all the great places I could go. Use these links to help you envision your ideal trip, while saving time, money and energy when you are ready to make your purchase.

CheapOAir
Look for some of the best deals on the web at CheapOair – Cheap Flights. Comparison shop for the best fares and schedules with their easy to use search page. Offering the best in cheap ticket options.

Seat61.com
I have to admit that the train is my favorite form of travel. Seat61.com is one of the most comprehensive train travel sites out there. Featuring routes all over the world, I don’t book anything without consulting the site first, mostly because without it, I wouldn’t even know where to book!
